Maria Makenna

Maria's love of classical theatre began as a teenager when she was awarded a student fellowship with the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC. After high school, she moved to New York City to study at the American Academy of Dramatic arts, and spent the following decade working as an actress and producer in New York's downtown theatre scene. She is co-founder of Infinite Variety Productions, a New York based women's theatre collective focused on historical ensemble pieces. In 2014, Maria left New York to begin anew in London, enrolling in LAMDA's classical performance masters program, where she met Erica Martin. The rest is beautiful history.

Erica spent her teenage years writing and performing her own songs. Her love of music and passion for drama lead her to study opera at McGill and later at  University of Montreal where she received her masters degree. Yearning for more knowledge of acting technique, Erica moved to London where she earned a master's degree in Classical Acting for the Professional Theatre. Her opera and songwriting background proved very useful when studying the classics. She's now focusing on combining her talents to create new projects.

Esmond Road productions seeks to create more opportunities for women in theatre and film.
